Latest Updates About Virginia State Taxes

An Excerpt from Virginia State Tax Update from Avicenna Accounting Blog:

In the Foundation’s index for 2009, Virginia had the 4th best corporate tax index rank in the nation, placing it above its peers: Maryland ranked 14th, Tennessee 12th and North Carolina 26th. Wyoming, Nevada, and South Dakota, which have no general corporate tax at all, received the highest scores.

In 2008 Virginia had the 18th highest tax burden in the country with 9.8 percent of income. Now few of the tax burden comes from corporate taxes.
