Why People Approach Engineering Recruitment Agencies
These days, most of the graduates and experienced engineers approach a specialized engineering recruitment agency that will make the task of searching for engineering jobs UK easier for them. These agencies have strong relations with big companies and job seekers are aware of this fact. Recruitment agencies charge some fees to job seeker and have different packages.
A good way of getting the best out of any engineering recruitment agency is to not limit yourself too much on the areas that you would like to work in unless you are specifically qualified in that field. This way you will find that it will take longer for you to find a good engineering job.
One more thing to remember is that you should update your CV so that it is tailored to the kind of engineering jobs you are looking for. Some professional recruitment agencies also help you to prepare your resume professionally and also give interview tips. How soon you find a job is entirely dependent on the particular positions you are looking for. However, many of the recruitment agencies will advise you accordingly of how successful they feel you would be in obtaining a job in this field.

Virtues Of Engineering Recruitment Agency

All engineering companies in the UK need to understand that engineering recruitment has its virtues. Many companies choose to go it alone to find talented professionals on their own. While some of these engineering companies succeed and many finally choose to work with a professional engineering recruitment agency to provide assistance to find skilled candidates for engineer jobs. Engineering recruitment through experienced agencies provides a number of services to firms looking to compete in the UK.
Engineering recruitment by specialty firms can be focused or broadened depending on the needs of a client. A small civil engineering firm looking to put in a bid for a major city project may want to procure a number of temporary civil engineers to work on the project. Another engineering firm may want to look for two or three talented designers to join their works during an expansion period. Recruiting firms are dynamic enough to help engineering companies on the move.
Outsourcing recruitment process to professional and experienced engineering recruitment agency is great because it eliminates the exhaustive project of looking through hundreds of applications. Companies work with engineering human resources managers to determine the criteria for an applicant to move onto the interview process. Once these criteria are set, a small or big engineering company only needs to wait for an experienced recruitment agency to assess the available applications and provide a few candidates for interview.

Global Recruitment Trends
Professionalism, technical competence and the development of world best practice are the hallmarks of successful engineering recruitment agencies. Nowadays, many organizations have moved to outsourcing all of their non-core activities.
Recruitment agencies are moving towards sourcing candidates through internet job boards enabling recruitment activity to occur in real time. The ability to recruit internationally has been a huge development and blessing for organizations using these services.
In Asia, the growth in temporary and contract positions is a continuing trend and one that is already emerging as a significant growth area in Australia.
As there is no licensing requirement for recruitment agencies, almost anyone can set up a business with little accountability for their actions. The closest we have to licensing in Australia is membership to the Recruitment and Consulting Services Association (R.C.S.A.), the peak industry body throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Job Network agencies are contracted to find jobs for unemployed job seekers in many fields, therefore their key focus is on the job seeker. Private agencies provide a service to employers using their skill, expertise, recruitment systems and networks to source the right candidates whether currently employed or not for their client companies.
Engineering is a major growth area and positions will continue to emerge globally for skilled and qualified personnel. It is pleasing to note that UK is at the forefront in many areas within the recruitment profession.

Low Expertise Jobs For Engineers
The three options for engineering jobs seekers under 30 who have not tenable employment after the 13 weeks are: an apprenticeship; a job at reduced salary; or ongoing their education. Jon Guldberg, president of the engineers’ unemployment fund, said that the result of putting everyone under the same rules would ultimately result in the most qualified workers getting the short end of the stick.
‘What we’ll end up seeing is newly educated engineers taking unskilled labor because that’s the easiest way to get them into the workforce,’ he said.
‘That means that they don’t use their qualifications, which makes it that much harder for them to get into the engineering job market.’
This is good news not only for mid level engineers and fresh engineering grads but also for engineering recruitment agencies operating in the UK, as most of engineering jobs UK are dealt through them.

Growing Recruitment Crises:
According to the IET (Institution of Engineering and Technology), the engineering and technology sector is facing a growing recruitment crisis and there is little confidence that the problem will improve in the short or medium term.Paul Jackson, Director of Professional Operations at the IET said that:
"The engineering and technology sector is vital to the future prosperity to the UK's economy and an increase in skills shortages puts the future growth, success and competitive advantage of many businesses into serious doubt".
The UK desperately needs to increase the engineers and technicians to meet demand of today. Annual skills survey of 500 companies taken by IET also revealed that businesses are turning to countries such as India, China and South Africa to plug the skills gap with 48% of companies recruiting from overseas in the last 12 months to cover specific skills shortages.
The latest survey by IET shows that although the technology and engineering job sector is still growing and recruiting but only 56% of respondents believed they would be able to recruit enough people into engineering and technical roles this year. The engineering and technology industry needs a combination of measures to fill the skills gap and commit to the long-term at the same time.
Bob Taylor, E.ON UK board member, said: "The results of the survey underline the difficult skills challenge the industry and our company now face".

Engineering Interview Preparation:
Questions includes during this initial contact are as follows, the interviewer is looking for basic information.
• How did you hear about this position?
This is where they determine what career marketing strategy they are using really works
• Are you willing to relocate?
More jobs are being moved to lower overhead locations. They need to know before they waste further resources, if you are serious about moving to the middle of nowhere for this job.
• Can you work in the United States?
This question is specific to American readers, but they need to know your work status.
• How soon can you start?
Be honest on this one. Don't be too eager to take a job, when you have to tie up a lot of loose ends in relocating.
In the second phase, interview will be conducted by a technical background person. Now comes the part where they try to determine if you will be an asset to them or a good fit for their team dynamics. Here are some questions you are likely to hear:
• What is your current job title?
Although you may not currently hold a software engineering job title, there is still hope of landing a software engineering position. The interviewer is trying to make sense from the skills you put down on your resume versus what skills are required of your current job position.
• Do you have any experience with team-based work environments?
You may think this is a simple type of question to be asked, however, many people do not have to interact with other individuals to complete work tasks. Team work is not for everyone. If you have the type of personality that makes team-based work or decisions difficult, you should be honest with yourself. Otherwise, you may land a position you regret taking.
• What type of programming experience do you have?
Some companies may be in need of a language specific applicant, others may not. Be honest about your abilities, highlight your attributes and state your limitations.
The third phase they will check your skills. They seek your willingness to work where the job is. The test may come in a face to face format, or many companies are using a proctored test format. In a Proctored test, a neutral party is present to administer the test and to verify that time restraints are met and no reference materials are used.
So if you are able to answer these kinds of questions then you job is guaranteed. Prepare yourself for interview by following my experiences that I just shared with you.

Importance Of Engineering Profession In The Near Future:
Tom Hadley, director of external affairs at the Recruitment & Employment Confederation, said “people with engineering skills are going to be early benefiters of the upturn in the economy”.
Commenting on how best to prepare for this, he remarked that future focus should be placed on "giving people the opportunities to train for a year or maybe more for the jobs where we know in the next few years there is going to be a need".
Deciding where staff is going to be required in the future is one area which should be addressed, Mr Hadley added, so that the UK is adequately prepared for the mid and long term.
Chief executive officer of Siemens Andreas Goss recently stated that individuals with engineering skills are going to be important in the future.
UK market is growing these days for professional engineers.Every engineering recruitment agency is hiring professional and experienced engineers for junior posts in order to make their success guaranteed. In next five years the engineering recruitment market in the United Kingdom will improve for graduates. Government agencies and private companies will continue to work together to expand their resources, requiring top notch engineering professionals to facilitate new plans.
